troy stende Special Appearance by Troy Stende

Troy Stende will have special appearances at all 1st year freshman orientation programs. He is a 3-time recipient of the prestigious "Best Campus Speak" Award from the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activates. Troy definitely knows what it takes to create a truly successful orientation. Get ready for a high energy, lively, and completely integrative activities. Most importantly, be prepared to have fun!

Planned Activities

Day 1
  • University Life presentation
  • Student-to-student dialogue on the different aspects of campus life
  • Presentations from each of the schools and majors
  • University Services Fair
  • Panels on resident student and commuter student topics
Overnight Participants:

The evening events include activities such as outdoor/indoor volleyball, basketball, ping pong, music and dancing, Karaoke, and so much more.
Day 2
  • First-year Experience and General Education presentations
  • Off to a Successful Start presentation on academic policies, procedures and review and issuing of schedules.
Canned Goods Service:

We are asking that students and parents bring along a non-perishable item or two to help us support local food pantries who serve many in our local communities. So, please make every effort to bring your donation for the cause and please do not pack the items away in a suitcase as we will be collecting the items at check-in on Day 1 and the food coalition volunteers will need to pick up all items that morning.


Orientation Checklist


Arrival/Check-In Orientation Day 1

When you arrive on campus, proceed to the Recreation Center which is located in Lot 6 where ample parking is available and where the two day program begins. Check-in starts at 8:00am and programs are scheduled through 5:30pm on Day 1. For those staying overnight, please bring your overnight bag into the Rec Center for check-in as well. Additional events will be hosted that evening. Times and locations will be provided the day you arrive. Day 2 will run approximately until 12 noon. Most importantly, students should make every effort to participate in the scheduled programs and make the necessary arrangements to participate fully.
