Upon recommendation from the hiring department, the candidate selected for a Career Service position will receive a verbal conditional offer of employment. This offer is confirmed in writing with details regarding title, start date, rate of pay and information relating to the new hire orientation process. The selected candidate may be subject to and the employment offer is contingent upon the completion and results of the below mentioned processes:
- Background Investigation
All external new hires in Career Service titles are subject to a background investigation as a condition of employment. Conviction will not necessarily disqualify applicant from consideration of employment.
- Physical Examination and/or Drug Screening
All new hires in Career Service titles must undergo drug screening test. In addition, candidates selected for a position in the Maintenance Operations and Public Safety must undergo a physical examination.
- Professional Reference Verification
All new hires are subject to employment reference verification.
- Degree Verification
Candidates for any position that requires a degree must provide an official transcript and may be subject to verification of degree credentials.
