Course Descriptions
Word I
This half-day workshop teaches the basics of Word 2003. Whether you have been using Word or are just beginning, this is where you need to start. You will learn to:
·Start a new document
·Change default settings
·Auto format and auto correct as you type
·Change page settings
·Convert documents to Word
·Adjust margins
·Insert pictures
·Manipulate graphics
·Set page borders
·Insert bullets and numbering
·Add and delete tabs
·Indent paragraphs
·Use headers and footers
·Insert page numbers and page breaks
·Adjust line spacing
Word II
This half-day workshop is a continuation of Word 1. You should have a functional knowledge of all the Word 1 concepts before taking this class. You will learn to:
·Use a Microsoft templates
·Use the Microsoft website to find additional features not packaged with the software
·Add tables to a document
·Insert lines and columns to tables
·Format tables
·Use drop caps
·Set up columns
·Adjust line spacing
·Add pictures
·Add an excel worksheet to your document
·Create charts using flow charts and basic shapes
·Create professional newsletters
·Format graphics
·Change default setting
Word III
This half-day workshop is a continuation of Word 1 and 2. You should have a functional knowledge of all the Word 1 and 2 concepts before taking this class. You will be introduced to:
·Link and embed objects to your documents
·Work with text boxes
·Use columns
·Create form letters
·Use your main documents
·Create mailing labels
·Print envelopes
·Use and understand merge codes
·Create word databases
·Use data sources
·Merge documents and printing form letters
·Create letterhead
Word IV
This half-day workshop is a continuation of Word 1, 2 and 3. You should have a functional knowledge of all the Word 1,2 and 3 concepts before taking this class. You will learn to:
·Add hyperlinks to a document
·Attach Word documents to e-mail
·Use the Microsoft Web site to download additional features
·Use the web toolbar
·Use the form toolbar
·Create a HTML document with hyperlinks
·Receive a complete review of any concepts needed in Word 1,2 and 3.
