Author of numerous books, articles, stories, essays, and a novel, Daniel Kolak has lectured all over the world. His published works are in the areas of philosophy of mind, personal identity, philosophy of science, philosophy of language, philosophy of mathematics, history of philosophy, philosophy of religion, philosophy of art, Wittgenstein, cognitive science, and logic. As Series Editor of the Wadsworth Philosophers Series and Philosophical Topics he oversaw the publication of over 135 volumes; presently he is Series Editor of the Longman Library of Philosophy (Allyn/Bacon-Longman). He has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Towson State University, University College, and the University of Maryland, where after beginning his studies in physics he received his doctorate in philosophy in 1986. He has directed and composed professionally for the stage, including his highly acclaimed version of Sartre's No Exit at the Source Theater in Washington, D.C. His most recent film work is the original score for Forsaken Cries: The Case of Rwanda, produced by Amnesty International and narrated by Danny Glover. He lives with his wife and four children in New York.
