The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the availability of several professional development workshops for our supervisors and managers. These workshops have been selected to enhance professional growth, development and potential career advancement. We encourage you to take advantage of these free workshops. For your scheduling convenience two sessions are offered on each workshop date.
The workshop selections are:
Manager as Coach
Your direct reports need coaching. Although each coaching opportunity will vary, your ability to quickly help someone on your staff explore and expand their skill set will enable them to assume new and challenging work assignments. By becoming aware of unique verbal and non-verbal communication components, you will be able to provide solid coaching.

Conflict Management
Conflict arises when values, perspectives and opinions are contradictory in an organization. This course addresses the impact of conflict on morale, types of managerial actions that contribute to conflict and specific actions that can be taken to reduce or eliminate conflict.

Communication and Work Styles
If you understand the way you communicate, you can better understand others. This course will help you understand your style and how to maximize it to build more cohesive teams, deal with conflict and build strategic relationships.

Effective Business Writing
This course teaches the “how to” behind generating polished business documents. Whether you are drafting memos, emails, reports or other types of written communication, you need to be concise and specific. Clear writing is powerful. You will also learn tips on editing, and grammatical do’s and don’ts.
