Tuition Waivers
Pursuant to NJSA 18A:64-13, the Board of Trustees of William Paterson
University may waive the payment of the University's anticipated tuition
revenues to accomplish mission-related or policy goals. Total dollar amounts
of tuition and/or fees waived is maintained by each category on a semester/session
basis.
Senior Citizen Waiver
Senior citizens over 65 are eligible for Senior Citizen Waivers. They
will not be charged course tuition, but are responsible for fees. The
courses attended are on a non-credit basis, subject to the availability
of classroom space.
Procedures
(a) A master list is compiled by the University Admissions Office and
sent to the Bursar's Office including the name, address, social security
number and date of birth of students eligible for the senior citizen waiver.
The Admissions Office is responsible for verifying eligibility for participation
in this program.
(b) The senior citizen is billed the same as a regular student but is
instructed to indicate in the Financial Aid area of the bill that (s)he
is a senior citizen and to pay for the fees only.
(c) When the bill and payment is received in the Bursar's Office, the
list is checked, the bill is processed, and the waiver is submitted through
the revenue system for adjustment.
